Noise Transmission Device: Radio Bending & Post-Silicon Instrument Lab
Initiated by Spectral Pulse, this project convenes a premier interdisciplinary team from Italy and Taiwan. By bridging international sound artists, expert hardware engineers, and scientific researchers, we are constructing a cross-border network for science-art co-creation.
Situated in Hsinchu—the strategic epicenter of the global semiconductor industry—Spectral Pulse serves as an intermediary platform for science and art, long committed to reconfiguring the paradigmatic boundaries between the two disciplines. Confronting an order defined by precise silicon wafers and closed technological systems, we initiate a "reverse thought experiment" that aims to return sophisticated hardware to its material essence, exploring alternative evolutionary pathways for our technological civilization.
Initiated by Spectral Pulse, this project convenes a premier interdisciplinary team from Italy and Taiwan. , this action transforms the Spectral Pulse studio into a "Radio Incursion Base." This project functions as a nexus for technical exchange between world-leading sound hackers and local scientific engineering teams. Through intensive experimentation with microprocessor tuning and circuit bending, we push precision hardware toward its material limits, dissolving rigid rationalist frameworks and reconfiguring them into "future sonic carriers" characterized by stochastic aesthetics.
By assembling a collective of international sound artists, professional hardware engineers, and scientific researchers, this project transcends mere technical demonstration. It is a profound exploration at the intersection of physics, radio hacking, and sonic art. By empowering participants to intervene directly at the physical layer of hardware, we realize an interdisciplinary offensive that imbues contemporary precision industrial artifacts with entirely new interpretive possibilities.
We seek to demonstrate that when technology is liberated from the narrow mandate of "functionality," it can unleash unexpected sensory energy.
